Project Description

Project involved the design and specification of a new PLC controller, development of interactive graphic page using VTScada software, responsibility for on-site testing and commissioning all new controls for tailings pond pump station at a Copper Processing plant, which included various water pumps, valves, and level and flow instrumentation.

Scope of Work

The specific scope of the project included the following elements:

Designed the PLC control system for the new tailings pond pump equipment, including electrical schematics.
Programmed the PLC to operate in manual or automatic mode and to communicate with the VTScada HMI software.
Designed the HMI graphic screen for the tailings pond, including popup windows for control functions of pumps and valves.
Tested and commissioned all analog and discrete data displayed on graphic screens as well as all control functions.
